Chelsea and Man City win; Title race set for an exciting finish

It’s back in the balance once again. The title race in the English Premier chelseaLeague becomes all the more exciting after Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea and Manchester City’s win over Crystal Palace last night.

Liverpool’s lose against Chelsea at Anfield came as a real shock to the fans across the world as they faltered after 11 consecutive wins, and that too in their own backyard. Chelsea fielded a team comprising mostly of players who haven’t played much throughout the season keeping in mind their mid-week encounter against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Still at the end of the match Jose Mourinho could leave the field with a broad smile across his face as his team beat the table-toppers with clinical scoreline of 2-0. Both the goals came in the stoppage time- the first one at the dying minutes of Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0first half as Demba Ba took advantage of a fateful slip from Steven Gerrard; the second one being in the added minutes of the second half when Willian scored after being set up beautifully by Fernando Torres.

Manchester City took advantage of Liverpool’s defeat as they beat lowly places side Crystal Palace 2-0 away from home. Yaya Toure coming back from a knee injury which he sustained early in this month set up the first one for Edin Dzeko and then went on to score the second of the night to give city a great chance of winning the title.

With this win Manchester City now stands 3 points behind the league leaders Liverpool with one more game in hand. Liverpool is currently leading the pack with 80 points from 36 matches. Chelsea is close second Man City beat Crystal Palacewith 78 points from 36 matches. But Manchester City has got a better goal difference which will surely come in to play if the teams end up on a tie on points. In that case if Manchester City wins all of their remaining matches, city will be the champions. But again if any one of Liverpool or Man City loses any one of their matches left, Chelsea will be crowned the champions of the Premier League. What will be the end result. Well we just can wait and watch.
