Spanish Midfielder Xabi Alonso is going through one of the best phases of his career. His performance has already taken an upward movement once he has made his comeback to the first eleven of the Real Madrid team. And as reward he has got three Premier League teams locking themselves up in a fight to sign him up once his contract gets over with Real.
Alonso’s former club Liverpool along with Chelsea has been in the fray of signing this Spanish playmaker. Now in the current situation, the entry of Arsenal has given it a new dimension. However Alonso himself has ruled out any possibilities of returning to his former Premier League club in spite of the Merseysider’s interest in him. That leaves him with two options-Chelsea or Arsenal. As of now possibilities are less that Alonso will be keen to play under his former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho. So Arsenal looks to be the most favourite to sign this midfielder at the end of the season. Alonso also has ruled out all the rumours regarding his move to a Major League Soccer team in the US.
If this transfer becomes a reality at the end of the season, it will be huge boost for the Gunners as they already have Mesut Ozil operating beautifully from behind the strikers. Alonso’s addition will surely give the fans something to hope for in the next season even if they fail to capitalize on their current form in the league.
