India wins Sultan of Johor Cup

India won the 3rd Sultan of Johor Cup on Sunday after beating host Malaysia 3-0 at Johor Bahru.

India remains unbeaten all through the tournament and displayed skills.  Amon Tirkey scored in the 22nd minute of the match to give India 1-0 lead.  Affan Yousuf scored a beautiful goal in the 55th minute and captain Manpreet seal the match with the third goal 6 minutes before the final whistle.

To become champion India had beaten England (2-1), Argentina (3-2), Pakistan (4-0) and South Korea (6-1) in the tournament.

This win will boost India’s chance in the upcoming FIH Junior Men’s World Cup to be held in December in New Delhi.
