Disappointing first day for India at Rio Olympics

India faced disappointment on the first day at Rio Olympics 2016. Heart break for the tennis fans as we lost out at the first round of both men and women doubles. Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna were defeated by Polish pair of M Matkowski and L Kubot and World No 1 doubles player Sania Mirza crashed out with her partner Prarthana Thombare in the first round against the Chinese pair of Shuai Zhang and Shuai Peng.

Shooters Ayonika Paul and Apurvi Chandela also delivered a flop show to crash out of the 10m air rifle final. Jitu Rai disappointed as he finished 8th in men’s 10m air pistol event.

Only silver lining came from Rowing where Dattu Baban Bhokanal enters into the quater final of Men’s single scull heats and Indian men’s hockey bearely defeated Ireland by 3-2.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
