Badminton body proposes life ban on Jwala Gutta

Controversial Indian badminton star Jwala Gutta is on the verge of suspension after the Badminton Association recommends life ban for her. The decision came after the meeting of BIA disciplinary committee on Saturday over Jwala’s alleged threat to pull out from a match against Banga Beats in recent IBL tournament.

Krrish Delhi Smashers’ star Jwala threatened to boycott match against Banga Beats last-minute replacement Jan Jorgensen.

Jwala was later asked to explain her stand but her the reply didn’t satisfy the disciplinary committee.

 “The disciplinary committee’s recommendations have gone to the president. He will either form an executive committee to look into the issue or act on the recommendation. He is in Lucknow right now, and will come back and decide the next step,” BAI vice president TPR Puri said.
