Trade union leader killed in Ambala


Trade union leader killed in AmbalaA treasurer of AITUC union in Ambala, Narender Singh was killed in a clash between a group of workers in a local bus depot this morning at the beginning of 2-day trade union strike across India.

It was said that Narender Singh, Haryana Roadways employee tried to stop a bus from moving from the depot at around 4 am today morning, died when he was hit by the bus.

Singh, who was a bus driver himself, was killed on the spot.

AITUC General Secretary Gurudas Dasgupta condemned the murder.

After the death of Narender Singh, the violence broke out and workers damaged vehicles.  Massive police have been deployed since the incident took place at the bus depot.
