Arvind Kejriwal Levels Allegations Against Sonia’s Son-in-Law

Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bushan, associates of the anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, have alleged that Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Mrs.Sonia Gandhi has been involved in illegal real estate transactions with the real estate giant DLF and that he has misused his position as the son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi.

Kejriwal has alleged that the property of Robert Vadra has increased from Rs.50 lakh to Rs.300 Crores in just about three years. He has alleged that in return for favours done to them in Congress-governed States, DLF sold prime land to Robert at dirt-cheap price apart from loaning him Rs.65 Crore.

Mrs.Sonia Gandhi has taken it upon herself to defend her son-in-law; she has issued a statement to the effect that Robert Vadra is a businessman and that he has not misused his relationship with her for pecuniary gain. Media reports indicate that Mrs.Gandhi has directed Congress leaders to defend Robert Vadra vigorously.

DLF has, for its part, issued a statement calling its business deals with Robert Vadra “totally transparent” and claiming that they were in conformity with the “highest standard of ethics”.

BJP, true to form, has demanded a thorough probe into the allegations.

The Common Man may expect a lot of heat and dust in the days to come and then … find the matter duly forgotten to the satisfaction of everybody.
