Shiv Sena Relaxes Stand on Bal Thackeray Memorial

Shiv Sena’s Executive President Uddhav Thackeray indicated that the Sena is willing to have Bal Thackeray’s memorial structure on the margins of Shivaji Park.

“Shiv Sainiks will with their own hands shift the ‘samadhi sthal’ a little,” said Thackeray.

In the party magazine Saamna, Uddhav Thaceray wrote: “The stance of Shiv Sena on the ‘samadhi sthal’ has always been that of restraint. A permanent samadhi sthal will come up at the ‘Shiv Teerth’ by shifting the present samadhi sthal a little.”

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation served a notice to Shiv Sena regarding  the structure.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said that Shivaji Park was allowed to be used only for Bal Thackeray’s cremation.
