UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has lashed out at Amit Shah, the General Secretary of BJP and incharge of Uttar Pradesh for fueling communal riots.
In an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai of CNN-IBN, Akhilesh alleged that BJP is trying to raise communal divide in the state.
“In Jhansi, there was a temple where hindus and muslims were living together since independence. Then why did BJP raise the issue of temple in the area,” Akhilesh asked.
“Since I joined politics, I wear a cap. If people give me a cap, I wear it. The Samajwadi Party is working for the development of the people,” Akhilesh added.
Defending his own party leader Azam Khan, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Good officers are being given an opportunity to work. Why did the officers not talk to me if there was political pressure? There was no political pressure to not act against Azam Khan. There is no case against him anywhere. Azam Khan is not involved in communalization.”
Meanwhile Modi aide Amit Shah is in trouble as CBI on Tuesday said it need to question him in Ishrat Jahan encounter case.
