Compensation cheques for Uttarakhand floods bounce

A huge embarrassment for Uttarakhand government! The compensation cheques which were issued to the victims of the recent devastating floods have been bounced back.

More than a dozen people complained that their cheques have bounced due to insufficient fund.

Government denied the allegations and said there is enough funds to carry out the procedure. However the reports suggested that the bank account from which cheques have been issued, has zero balance.

This is really shocking! It seems state government is not serious about relief and rehabilitation.
