Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has told Russian President Vladimir Putin at BRICS Summit that unit 1 of the Kudankulam nuclear power project will be operational by April.
“I am pleased to inform you Mr President that Kudankulam Unit I will become operational, in particular, the very next month,” Manmohan Singh told Putin on Wednesday.
The first unit has the capacity of 1,000 mega watt.
