JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar apologized to the people of Bihar on Friday, for resigning as the Chief Minister after the party’s debacle in the General Elections of 2014. Addressing a press conference, Nitish Kumar said, “I apologize for my mistake. Will never take such emotional decisions again and will always take the wishes of the people into consideration. We are committed to working for the development of Bihar. Me resigning as the Chief Minister was a mistake.”

Nitish Kumar, who is very confident of his comeback said he was waiting for the Bihar Governor’s invitation for  forming a government in the state. Nitish Kumar took the chance to criticize the BJP by accusing them of attempting  to break JD(U). While doing so, he praised BJP’s ally in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, for supporting them when BJP backed Manjhi.

“The drama of this script was written by BJP. I never interfered in the government as alleged by Manjhi. Manjhi tried his best to violate anti-defection law and use all illegal means to garner support,” said Nitish Kumar.

On the other hand, BJP minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said Manjhi’s resignation was a sad occurrence and that forces had conspired to create obstructions for him in the state.
