Don’t follow Lieutenant Governor says Delhi CM Kejriwal as coldness escalates

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has strictly  instructed bureaucrats and other officials not to follow any order from the Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung without his knowledge, as the coldness between the two top men escalates and reaches the President’s  doorstep.

In a circular issued late on Monday, the CM stated that for smooth functioning, “It is hereby ordered that any direction or order, whether oral or written, received from Honorable LG or his office to the Chief Secretary or any administrative Secretary, shall first be submitted by the concerned administrative Secretary/Chief Secretary on the file to the Minister in charge and the Chief Minister for a decision.” “Delhi has an elected government. Earlier governments surrendered, we won’t,” further remarked the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Earlier this month, the CM had told his office machinery to “”route every file through his office”” and “not bother” the Lieutenant-Governor for every single decision. The party strongly accesses the Lt. Gen. for acting as a protege for other parties.

The latest development came soon after the Lieutenant Governor wrote to the Delhi Government officials, saying that it’s decision to replace an officer was “void” as it continued to  remain under ambiguity.

Meanwhile, the AAP has also said Mr Kejriwal will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the same.
