Cadbury to pay Rs. 30000 to a man who found a pin in chocolate


Cadbury India is ordered to pay a fine of Rs. 30,000/- to a man who found a pin in chocolate.

Court orders Cadbury to pay Rs 30k to a man who finds pin in chocolate Issuing an order against a complaint, the consumer court in Tripura asked Cadbury India to pay fine to a man who purchased a chocolate bar and later found an iron pin inside it.

“A man purchased a Cadbury chocolate on Dec 16, 2011, for his three-year-old daughter and found an iron pin inside the bar when the girl tried to eat it. Subsequently, he filed a complaint before a consumer forum. After conducting a hearing, the west Tripura district consumer disputes redressal forum last week ordered Cadbury India Ltd to pay a compensation of Rs 30,000 to the complainant within a month,” an official told reporters on Wednesday.

Court has also asked Cadbury to pay additional Rs 1,000 for legal proceedings.
