Top 10 places to visit in London

It is truly said by someone great that London is indeed a bad habit that one hates to lose! Right from the Gothic promenades to the Victorian sculptures, from the Elizabethean settings to the contemporary touchup, it is the city of dreams, the city of passion, the city of life and the city of ambitions. I’ve always admired the British capital as not just a seat of power but a canvas for bringing dreams to reality. And what more fulfilling could’ve been than to visit this very city on this Christmas! In this article, I present to you the top 10 places you should definitely head out to, while in the english city. While the top 10 are extremely difficult to choose considering the plethora this magnanimous place has to offer, these are must-try. The next article shall contain top 10 eateries to visit while in the city.

The best period to visit is spring through summer. Embrace yourself for occasional spells of shower.

1. Coca-Cola London eye

A giant Ferris-wheel like observation structure, one can actually have a resplendent view of the city, overlooking the Thames. A must-visit and one of the most popular attractions in the entire of U.K.!

2. London bridge

‘London bridge is falling down, falling down, London bridge is falling down, my fair lady’.

We’ve heard this nursery rhyme a million times. Worry not, the London Bridge is not falling down. The original London Bridge was built across the Thames back in the 18th century, standing magnificently till date, overlooking the city.

3. Madame Tussauds

Cutely nestled at the Marlyebone street, it houses the most prominent figures of all times; also offering a toy-train ride of London, from the 17th century until the present.

4. Buckingham palace & Westminster Abbey

It’d be a shame if you visit London and not ‘look at the Queen’. The City of Westminster houses both these magnificent architectures. If you’re lucky, who knows you might end up having a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess, or even the Queen herself? Westminster also houses the famous Baker Street, home to Sherlock.

5. Peckham

Even though the city is supposed to hustle and bustle throughout, Peckham is where the city comes to life at night. Right from exquisite bars to roadside eateries, from street shows to a lot more fanfare, this can be said to be a traveller’s paradise.

6. Hamley’s

You go to London and not visit this gigantic toy-store? It’s a shame.

Hamley’s is a destination where all your fandom needs come to a reality;

7. Harrod’s

You go to London and not visit Harrod’s? It’s even a greater shame!

Harrod’s is a one stop solution for everything else. My personal favorite are the chocolates

8. Victoria & Albert museum

Admired  widely, this is regal in its own way. The are of South Kensington has its own story to boast, afterall. The museum houses artifacts all throughout the English history

9. Football stadiums

Home to some of the greatest football clubs to ever exist, it is a footballer’s dream- Arenal, Tottenham, it has got them all! Wembly Bridge, Stamford Bridge, Emirates stadium

10. Lord’s ground

For any true Indian, watching a match or merely even visiting the stadium is no lesser than an honor. Home to many epic matches, Lord’s has been legendary in its own way.
