Dhanushkodi Beach

Dhanushkodi, an astonishing temple town is situated in southern tip of small town of Rameswaram in the east coast of Tamil Naidu. Rameswaram which is known as the tip of India is popular for its “Dhanushkodi Beach”. Dhanushkodi beach is located on the confluence of Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean and is the closest point to SriLanka. The beach was destroyed by a major cyclone in 1964 and was never rehabilitated. With silver shining sand, and crystal clear water, Dhanushkodi is mystically beautiful beach in Tamil Naidu. You can only see the blue horizon meeting the blue sea and nothing else. Dhanushkodi Beach is also popular for its Adam’s Bridge also known as Ram Setu which connects India to Sri Lanka.  Also known as the “Ghost Town”, visiting Dhanushkodi is permitted only for day time. Visit this haunting, abandoned and tragic beach town to witness the best sunrise or sunset of your life on the endless blue water stretch.
