As expected Usain Bolt won men’s 100 meter gold at the world championships on Sunday amid heavy rain. World’s fastest sprinter is happy to get back his crown which he lost 2 years back due to false-start.
Bolt finished the race in 9.77 seconds. Justin Gatlin came second and Jamaican Nesta Carter ended the race in third position.
“It’s always great to get back your title. I’m happy with myself I got it done,” said Bolt.
“I’m just doing my part by running fast, winning titles and letting the world know you can do it clean. My focus is to continue doing what I do,” he added.
“Then I saw these long legs coming up on my right side. He’s great. He’s just great,” after the race Gatlin said.
Meanwhile Brittney Reese continues her dominancy and won her third straight long jump gold.
Olympic champion Ashton Eaton also won decathlon gold here at the world championships.
“It was the only thing I had left on my list to do. Now I have done everything there is to do in the multi-events,” Eaton said.
Olympic champion Sandra Perkovic of Croatia won the discus.
