Saina Nehwal loses Swiss Open semifinal


Saina Nehwal was ousted by Shixian Wang in Swiss Open semifinalTop seed Saina Nehwal lost her semifinal match against China’s Shixian Wang at the $125,000 Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold on Saturday.

Fourth seeded Shixian ousted defending champion Saina Nehwal  21-11, 10-21, 21-9.

The fourth seeded Shixian halted Saina’s journey to a consecutive third final by winning the match 21-11, 10-21, 21-9 in 50 minutes at St. Jakobshalle Saturday, denying the Indian to celebrate her 23rd birthday Sunday with the title.

The final will be played between Shixian and Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand.
