Having lost Gayle due to an injury the West Indies batting looked all the more weak on a slow and low pitch in Vishakhapatnam. However they managed to stay calm and went on to win the match. Darren Sammy deservedly got the man-of-the-match award for his strokeful 63 as Indian bowlers had a poor outing. Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with the figures Earlier in the day, India rode on yet another brilliant performance from Virat Kohli and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to set a challenging total of 288. Kohli played some classy shots in spite of losing wickets at the other which kept the run-rate in good condition. However he fell one short of a deserved century as he was caught in the third-man area while trying to hook a short ball off Ravi Rampaul. India’s score was 209-5 when Dhoni came on to bat. It was because of his few late assaults that saw India reaching close to the 300-run mark. Dhoni remained not out on 51.

With the last match due in two days time Dhoni’s men need to pull themselves up from the shock of a narrow defeat. The last match in Kanpur will surely be an exciting one as it is turning out to be a potential decider.
