It’s Smriti Irani vs Rahul Gandhi in Amethi

It’s official. The ‘Shahzada’ of Indian politics will fight Indian television’s beloved bahu in a battle royal!

The BJP has announced that actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani will contest against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

BJP vice-president Smriti Irani will also face AAP leader Kumar Vishwas in the same constituency.

In her first reaction Smriti Irani said, “We will give a tough fight and win.”

The decision came after BJP central election committee met in New Delhi on Monday evening.  

The BJP has also field SC lawyer and former Samajwadi leader Ajay Aggarwal against Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli.
