Pushkar case – FBI ‘rules out’ death by radioactive elements

In the latest developments in the mysterious Sunanda Pushkar death case, the Delhi Police forces have received the FBI lab’s authentic forensic report which said, ‘No radioactive angle in Sunanda Pushkar’s death’.

The FBI report had ruled out Sunanda’s death by Polonium or any other radioactive substance, Time Now reported.

“We have received the FBI’s forensic report by email. A detail report is still awaited. Once we get the full report, the medical board would examine it,” Delhi Police chief BS Bassi told reporters.

The future course of action will be deciding only after getting the final report from the medical board, Bassi remarked. Sunanda Pushkar’s viscera samples were sent to US after AIIMS doctors had said that Indian labs lacked facility to identify the poison which caused her death.

Delhi Police have constituted a special investigative team to probe the death of Pushkar.

Pushkar, the wife of former Union minister Shashi Tharoor, was found dead in a luxury hotel in Delhi on January 17, 2014.

Police have said that she was poisoned.
