Mulayam Singh cancels AMU visit

Following huge protest on the campus, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has cancelled his address at Aligarh Muslim University on Monday.

Mulayam SinghA section of the teaching staff in the University has been protesting since last two days against Mulayam’s visit to the seminar organised by Sir Syed Movement. He was set to give his speech on Tuesday. The protestors are angry with Samajwadi Party for their mishandling of the Muzaffarnagar riots followed by ill treatment to its victims. The protestors are also protesting against SP’s stand on the anti-communal violence Bill.

AMU Teachers Association has welcomed the news and Aftab Alam, secretary of the association said, “We are also upset by Yadav’s opposition to the Communal Violence Prevention Bill. We had always looked upon the SP as a champion of secularism and were taken aback by the recent events.”

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
