Tarun Gogoi rejected demand of Bodoland

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has ruled out any possibility of splitting the state and formation of separate Karbi Anglong and Bodoland.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Mr. Gogoi said, “No government wants to divide any state. In Assam, we want to live like a joint family.”

Mr. Gogoi said actions will be taken against any form of violation and warned the protestors who are encouraging violation.

“But no one has any right to indulge in violence or take law into their hands. Else, we will have to take action against them,” he said.

Mr. Gogoi admitted that this fresh situation arises only due to party’s decision to create separate Telangana state.
