CBI takes over UP DSP murder case

The Central government has handed over the Pratapgarh DSP murder case to CBI on Thursday following UP government’s request.

CBI will now probe into the murders of Kunda DSP Zia-ul-Haq and two villegers in Pratapgarh who had died over alleged land dispute.

DSP Zia-ul-Haq was reportedly killed by a mob in Pratapgarh while he was investigating the murders of village head Nanhe Yadav and his brother Suresh Yadav.

Haq’s wife Parveen Azad lodged an FIR and named UP minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh aka Raja Bhaiya for conspiracy and murder of her husband. She demanded CBI inquiry and an embarrassed chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had no other option but to meet her demand.

Raja Bhaiya had resigned last week from the UP Cabinet.
