Rape convict Bitti Mohanty arrested in Kerala

Bitti Mohanty, a convict of raping a German tourist in 2005, was finally arrested in Kerala on Saturday. He has been absconding since 2006 while out on parole.

Bitti Mohanty is son of former Odisha DGP BB Mohanty.

Kerala Police has arrested him in Kannur and will produce him in court.

Bitti Mohanty raped a Gemman tourist in Alwar, Rajasthan, in 2005 and was sentenced to seven years imprisonment. He jumped parole and absconding since 2006. Reportedly he had changed his identity and was using name ‘Raghav Rajan’. He has been working with State Bank of Travancore since June 2012.
