CBI’s FIR in Coalgate includes Kumar Mangalam Birla

CBI’s fresh FIR into the coal scam case names Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla. In their 14^th FIR, CBI also named Hindalco, Nalco and former coal secretary PC Parakh.

Currently CBI conducting raids in Delhi, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Mumbai.

Coal-block allocation scam came into limelight in 2012 when the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) office alleged that Government of India has allocated coal blocks in irregular manner during the period 2004–2009 in which the country had lost approximately Rs 1.86 lakh crore. Under Supreme Court’s direction CBI is investing the corruption in Coalgate scam.
