Amway India CEO arrested

Amway India chairman and CEO, William S Pinckney, was arrested on Tuesday by the Andhra Pradesh in connection with a complaint associated illegal circulation of money through Amway’s operations.

The Kurnool police informed that the arrest has been made on the basis of a case filed in 2013 in connection of illegal practices in money circulation and product selling and under pertinent laws. Pinckney was also arrested by Kerala police last year over the same charges.

Kurnool Superintendent of Police Raghurami Reddy said Pinckney was detained in Gurgoan on Monday and was brought to Kurnool on a warrant.

“He will be produced in the court shortly. The CEO has been booked under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation. Schemes (Banning) Act,” Reddy said.
