The appointment of Bikram Singh comes at a time when the Army looks in disorder as it is badly hit by infightings and scandals. His appointment was challenged in Supreme Court too. Lt-Gen Bikram Singh remained as chief-designate for the last three months because of severe resistance to his appointment.

During his forty years career, Punjab Public School alumni, General Bikram Singh handled various high profile command and projects. He was involved in various controversies too. There was serious question on his leadership quality when his troops were engaged in indiscipline during his tenure in Congo on a UN mission. He was also involved in an illegal encounter in Jammu and Kashmir in 2001.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
