Obama regrets over comments on California Attorney General’s looks

US President Barack Obama said sorry to California Attorney General Kamala Harris for calling her “the best-looking attorney general” at a Democratic fundraiser in California last week which raised eyebrows and president faces ‘criticism’ on internet.

Obama on Thursday said Harris “happens to be, by far, the best-looking attorney general in the country. It’s true! C’mon.”

White House press secretary Jay Carney said, “He called her to apologise for the distraction created by his comments. He did not want in any way to diminish the attorney general’s professional accomplishments and her capabilities.”

Harris’ spokesman, Gil Duran said, “They had a great conversation yesterday, and she strongly supports him,”
