Good news for the foreign travelers. US administration has decided to remove controversial full body scanners from all US airports amidst privacy concerns.

Controversial Full body scanners to be removed from US airportsThe Scanners which has become a nightmare to the travelers for the last couple of years, shall be removed by June this year according to the reports.

“By June 1, 2013 travelers will only see machines which have ATR that allow for faster throughput. This means faster lanes for the traveler and enhanced security. As always, use of this technology is optional,” Transportation Security Administration confirmed.

The decision came after the company which was responsible for the scanner installation at the airports, failed to arrange non-imaging Automated Target Recognition (ATR) software as mandated by the Congressionally by 2013.
