Staunch followers of this Bollywood`s queen must have surely noticed that Deepika earlier had promised to come with something very ‘special’ on Thursday. Most of them speculated that it would be something related to her upcoming releases. But NO! She proved us wrong as she released the logo of her social organization ‘Live, Love, Laugh’. It is her newly found, self-formed Mental Health Care foundation which she organized after undergoing a depression phase last year.
The feisty actress has never feared from speaking her mind out loud, and following the same, she had spoken about mental diseases earlier this year and how one needs to shed away all the inhibitions associated with the problem. Not many open up about such mental illnesses due to certain dogma and that is why along with a team of psychiatrists and doctors, DP took this initiative.
With a tagline, ‘Foundation Against Depression’, the logo shows free birds flying high which truly signifies the very motto of this non-profit organization. “The fight against depression is a cause very close to my heart and is one of the largest health issues facing the country today. Having experienced depression in the recent past, I realise how difficult it is to recognise the problem, find information and get the right kind of professional help,” Deepika told the Indian Express. Further she added, “I was fortunate to get the kind of support and through this platform I hope others get the same kind of help. My team and I are working hard to set up the foundation and the logo launch is a small step in that direction.”
Hope this kind initiative of hers turns into a true, solid success ahead and save many lives from getting succumbed to the evil of depression.
