Chef Tarla Dalal dies at 77

Renowned chef and culinary author Tarla Dalal passed away on Thursday at the age of 77 from brief ailment.

Tarla DalalPadma Shri awardee Tarala Dalal ruled the cooking industry for almost four decades. Her cooking shows on television were viewed by thousands of Indian across the globe. She wrote more than 100 cook books which sold over 3 million copies.

Her demise message was Posted on her Facebook Wall:  “We would like to thank all of you for your support and affection through the years of Mrs Tarla Dalal’s career. She is no more with us as she expired in the early hours of this morning. We thank her for all the happiness that her talent has given to us and our families…”

“Tarla Dalal was the first person to popularise the art of cooking. It is a terrible loss,” masterchef Sanjeev Kapoor said.

May her soul rest in peace!
