Up your game with these winter essentials!

The sun has started setting earlier than it used to. It’ll soon be time for Thanksgiving, Christmas and eventually the New Year! It’s fleece season, y’all! While majority of India is never at the extreme end of receiving cold blows or bizarre waves, we can’t really say that we don’t feel chills down the spine, sometimes because of the sudden climate dips.

But again, who wouldn’t want to feel the warmth of a jacket or a scarf ‘round their necks?

We bring to you, starting from the top to the bottom of your body, a few winter essentials, also since they’re quite the vogue in town now. You don’t have to splurge unnecessarily, you can very much style your own self using DIY techniques.

  • Caps/Beanies: Essential, prerequisite, important! It is oft said that if your head is warm, you can process things better. Gone are the days when winters meant dull sweaters and boring monkey caps. Get out and explore the different hues that this world has to offer. Check out for different styles as the world has converged towards modernization and western influences. For instance, caps with the feature of covering your ears is quite a fad now.

  • Scarf/Muffler: If you think these are just for the oldies, then you’re clearly mistaken. Scarves/stoles/mufflers range from different hues to textures to p[attersn, all depending on your fashion aesthetics.

  • Knitwear: Probably the best part of winter wear where you can experiment all you want to! Spice up your collection with exquisite looking tops made from wool. Or check for some lush cardigans. Our fashion advice is to opt for single shade full sleeve tops so as to retain the elegance and sophistication along with dwelling in the winter-y vibes- they always do the trick!

  • Coats/Jackets: While umbrellas or windcheaters are used by everyone everywhere, why not be a tad different? Indian e-commerce websites like Amazon.in, Myntra or even Decathlon have begun selling ‘down’ jackets, keeping in mind the western standards. These jackets are light, easy to wear and carry around and can protect you from rain or cold. Saves you the effort of buying a windcheater separately.

  • Hoodies: Our most favorite part is talking about hoodies, sweatshirts or pullovers. I personally opt for oversized ones- They’re most comfy when you want to stay indoors and have ‘me-time’ by probably doing nothing. You can go for the trendy ones based on popular sit-coms like FRIENDS or Marvel/DC styled and laze around sipping hot chocolate or cappuccino. Check out for cute colours, like baby pink or baby yellow.

  • Gloves: Winters are incomplete without this. Gloves range depending on your use, whether you utilize a pair daily to protect your palms against the natural harshness or if you just want to cover your palms and not fingers- Well, those are fashion cues.

  • Socks: Woollen socks this season are the best. They keep your toes so warm that you do not feel a difference in the temperature dips.

  • Boots: Probably the best. From high heeled ones to smaller rounded ones, from knee-length to ankle-length, fashion hubs these days have got it all covered for you.

  • Bags: Complete the cute petite girl-next-door touch by stylizing your wardrobe and getting yourself a bag, and you’re good to go!

While these trends seem exuberant and we’re sure you might be dying to try them out, you must be worrying whether it is going to burn a hole in your pocket. Worry not, these amazing pieces are available at cheap rates on online portals like Amazon.in, Decathlon, Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong.

What are you awaiting then?
