Long lines of pilgrims waiting patiently to pay homage to their deity and the chorus chanting of “GOVINDA” by Pilgrims – welcome to one of the most spiritual temples in South India “Tirupati Ji”. Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, one of the richest Hindu pilgrimage is situated on the hill top of Tirumala in Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh,the town is spreads on the foothills. Tirupati Temple is devoted to Lord Sri Venkateshwara known in North India as Lord Balaji and in South India as Lord Govinda. Every day over 50,000 pilgrims visited the temple. It is mesmerizing view to see long lines of pilgrims waiting there without a sign of frustration for 4-5 hours for just a glimpse of the lord. Inside the temple is 8 feet tall Lord Venkateshwara idol with his eyes half closed and a smile on his face. He has four hands and is studded with diamonds -one holding a conch, second holding a chakra, the lower touching hip and fourth rained in boon. Visit this divine temple and blessed with spirituality.

How to reach:

By Rail: Nearest railway station is Tirupati Railway Station.

By Air: Renigunta airport is located 15 kms from the city, but is only connected to Hyderabad.Taxi services are available from the airport to the city centre and it charges about Rs 300.

By Road: State Tourist Buses and Private buses ply to Tirupati on regular basis.

Some of the temples are Akasaganga Teertham, Asthana Mandapam, Papavinasam Teertham, Sri Annapurna Sameta Kasi Visweswaraswami Temple, Sri Annapurna Sameta Kasi Visweswaraswami Temple,                Sri Chennakesavaswami Temple, Sri Govindarajaswami Temple, Sri Kalyana Venkateswaraswami Temple, Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple, Sri Kodandaramaswami Temple, Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Sri Prasanna Venkateswaraswami Temple, Sri Varahaswami Temple, Sri Veda Narayanaswami Temple, Sri Venkateswara Dhyana Vignan Mandiram and Sri Venugopalaswami Temple. For nature lovers a visit to Swami Pushkarini Lake is not to be missed.

Local Food:

Food in tirupati is typical South Indian food which is rice, sambhar, chutneys, rassam and chass. Some not be missed when visting tirupati is holy prasadam, which could be anything including sakkare pongal (sweet pongal), ven pongal (white, salted pongal), puliyogare (tamarind rice) or daddhyonnam/thayir sadam (curd rice).

To get the true taste of Hyderabad visit Nitya Anna Dana Hall serving to around 25000 people every day. Other restaurants that can be tried are Mayura Restaurants, Woodside Restaurants, Bharani Restaurant and Punnami Restaurant.
