This small virgin hill station in West Bengal is situated around the beautiful Samedu Lake at an elevation of 167mts above the sea level. Mirik is known for its serene and picturesque locations. Surrounded by Pine & Cardamom forests, there are many other orchards & plantations also. One popular spot in Mirik is Samedu Lake, which is surrounded by beautiful gardens and forests. The 3.5kms long road encircling the lake, relaxes you with a pleasant walk accompanied with the magnificent view of Kanchenjunga. Mirik is also known for its Bhuddist monasteries. One of the popular is Bokar Gompa which is home of Mahayana Monks. Mirik is also known for its Shiva, hanuman and Kali Mata Temples. Some other popular tourist points known for its beauty in Mirik are Rameetay Dara and Deosi Dara.
