A Jabalpur Medical College dean, Dr Arun Sharma, who was a part of the probe into the Vyapam Scam was found dead in a New Delhi hotel early Sunday. Sharma’s corpse being discovered in less than a day after television Journalist Akshay Sharma’s death, has mounted the pressure on the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan promising strict inquiry into the deaths.

Dr Arun Sharma, assisting the investigations into the Vyapam Scam, was supposed to board a flight early on Sunday morning. He, reportedly, had requested the staff of the hotel he was staying in to give him a wake-up call in the early hours on Sunday. However, when no response was incurred from Dr Sharma, the hotel staff immediately rung the police around 6am, who found the doctor lying on the bed.

Some tablets were discovered from the hotel room, which are reckoned to be diabetes pills.

Dr Sharma was rushed to the Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital in the capital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Dr Sharma’s death led to the Indian Medical Association’s Jabalpur wing demand a CBI probe into his mysterious death.

Coincidentally, Dr Sharma’s predecessor, Dr Sakalle was found dead too, exactly a year ago, while he was a part of the probe committee.

Singh agrees to the demand of dead Journo’s family

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan agreed to the demand of dead television journalist Akshay Singh’s family. After Singh’s death, his sister Pakhi had written to the Chief Minister in black and blue the family’s demands to get Singh’s viscera samples examined outside Madhya Pradesh, where the journalist was found dead on Saturday.

For a free and fair probe into the matter, Singh’s sister had urged the Chief Minister to allow the viscera to be examined at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Akshay Singh, an investigative journalist associated with television channel Aaj Tak was found dead under mysterious circumstances, after he interviewed the family of the main accused of the scam, who, reportedly, had died three years ago.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal attended the funeral of Akshay Singh and have called for a firm investigation into the matter, which has become serious.
