The Spanish club, Valencia has reportedly suspended their France defender Adil Rami for one week for insulting his coach and team-mates in a recent radio interview. During his suspension the club will not pay him salary.
In an interview with Cadena Ser last month Rami criticized that coach Miroslav Djukic and the team members.
“I don’t talk with Djukic. He’s the captain of the ship but we’ll see where we end up at the end of the season,” Rami said.
“This year we lost (David) Albelda, (Roberto) Soldado and Tino (Costa) – and now in the locker room we only have a bunch of players who don’t look at you in the face,” he added.
In a statement on Friday, Valencia said, that Rami had “repented for his statements against his coach and teammates” and “Regardless of the punishment, we have agreed to work together to find a satisfactory solution for both parties.”
The team had not included Rami since the interview.
