Serena Williams wins French Open title


Serena Williams beats Maria Sharapova to win French Open titleWorld number one Serena Williams won French Open title on Saturday at Roland Garros,  beating second seed Maria Sharapova.

It took 1 hour 46minute match for Serena to beat Sharapova in straight set 6-4, 6-4.

Serana won her second French open after 11 years and created history for being the oldest woman (31 years, 247 days) in the Open Era to win the French Open title.

This was also Serena’s 16th Grand Slam title only behind Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova who won 18 title each.
