India wins the Border-Gavaskar trophy

 India beat Australia in the third Test in Mohali on Monday and won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India wins the series 3-0 with one match to go. 

India wins against Australia in MohaliChasing Australia’s target of 133 in the second innings India achieved the target with loss of four wickets.

Murli Vijay made 26, Pujara scored 28 and Virat Kohli scored 34.

Sachin Tendulkar and skipper Dhoni led the team to register 6-wickets win. Tendulkar got run out on 21 and Dhoni remains unbeaten on 18.

India’s debutant centurion Shikhar Dhawan suffered a nasty hand injury and he did not come back to bat in the second innings.

Earlier in the day Australian tail-enders gave hard time to Indian bowlers to bowl them out. Australia made 223 with M. Starc scored fantastic 35 and Doherty remained unbeaten on 18. Hughes (69) made the highest score for them.

The fourth and final Test match will be played at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi from March 22nd.

Australia – 408 (1st innings) & 223 (2nd innings)
India – 499 (1st innings) & 136 (2nd innings)
