Fernando Alonso made sure that he is set to drive for Ferrari in the upcoming seasons. After confirmation of the fact that Kimi Raikkonen will be making a comeback for the 
Italian racing team next season, speculations were high that Alonso might have to give away his position to the former F1 champion resulting in his departure from his current team. But Alonso made clear his intentions of staying back in the team till the end of his career. He said, “I repeat more or less every weekend, but I keep repeating, that I love Ferrari and I will stay in Ferrari until the end.”
He added, “I have three more years with Ferrari and I hope many more to come if we can extend the contract.” This could well be great news the Schuderians who are currently ranked 2nd in the constructors’ list and aiming for a better performance in the upcoming years.
Since the deal between former F1 champion Raikkonen and team Ferrari was settled, the rumour of Alonso leaving Ferrari next season began to spice up. It gained greater height when McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh said to the reporters, “I expect next year our driver line-up to stay the same but we are open to anything… And in the longer term then he’d be a great asset. I think Fernando’s in control of his own destiny, but we’ll see.” However, the remarks that the Spaniard made last night will surely bring an end to all the speculations regarding his future at Ferrari.
