Azarenka Wins Australian Open

Victoria Azarenka beats Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-0 to win the Australian Open women’s title. This is Victoria Azarenka’s  first Grand Slam title.

After winning the Australian Open, Azarenka also becomes world number one.

It took almost 1 hour and 22 minutes at the Rod Laver Arena for the 22-year-old Belarusian to beat Sharapova, the 2008 Australian champion.

While  Azarenka gave special credit to her grandmother, “the person who inspires me the most in my life,”  Sharapova said, “As in any sport, you have your good days, you have your tough days and you have days where things just don’t work out.”

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
