Mamata says TMC will support government on Sri Lankan Tamils issue

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced that her party Trinamool Congress will support UPA government’s stand on Sri Lankan Tamils issue at the UNHRC.

Mamata Banerjee says TMC will support government on Sri Lankan Tamils issue“Our party supports the cause of the Tamil brothers and sisters. We are deeply concerned about the atrocities meted out to a section of Tamil population in a foreign country,” Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee wrote on Facebook,

“We are always with our Tamil brothers. We appreciate their concerns. This is the local sentiment. We appreciate their sentiment also,” Banerjee said.

“At the same time, on issue of external affairs or foreign policy our party never interferes whatever it (India) thinks fit for the interest of the country. We leave it to the central government to decide on the issue,” Mamata added.

Mamata Banerjee further said, “A government at the Centre may go and another government may come, but foreign policy is made keeping in mind the interest of the country. However, the concerns of the state and the sentiments of the people must be kept in view by the Centre, before taking any decision pertaining to foreign country,” she said.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
