The Indian Army soldiers are said to have killed over 100 militants in a well planned and executed operation, in the Myanmar region that shares its border with Manipur and Nagaland. The operation lasted for about 45 minutes and was to retaliate the murders of over a dozen soldiers in the North East region by the militants in the last 2 weeks.

In the firm operation, the militants did not get a chance to react, and even before they could, they were struck down by the army men. According to The Times of India, Indian Army forces faced no retaliation and not a single shot was fired by militants. Six inured militants have been admitted to the hospital after the operation concluded.

Myanmar was informed by the time the army men were on the verge of finishing the operation that began at 3am. Drones and IAF choppers are said to have assisted the army in this operation. The army men returned back to India safely after the operation.

The operation was India’s firm response against terror threats on the border and killing of Indian soldiers securing the border. Minister of state for information and broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore told Times Now that the hot pursuit was ordered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said attacks on Indians, be it in Iraq or Yemen, were unacceptable. “This is a message to neighbours who harbour terrorists,” Rathore said, as reported by the TOI.

In its statement, the army said that while ensuring peace and tranquility along the border and in the border states, any threat to our security, safety and national integrity will meet a firm response.
