Tarun Tejpal gets interim bail

Founder and Former editor-in-chief of Tahelka, Tarun Tejpal got three weeks’ interim bail on Monday to attend last rites of his mother Shakuntala Tejpal who died on Sunday in Goa.

Earlier Tejpal’s lawyers Sandip Kapoor sought permission to Supreme Court to allow Tejpal to perform the final rites.

“Three week interim bail has been granted to Tejpal,” Tejpal lawyer informed media.

Shakuntala Tejpal was suffering from brain tumour. She was 87.

Tarun Tejpal is accused of raping a female junior colleague at a Goa hotel in November last year. He has been in judicial custody for last six months.
