Confirming the speculations, the doctors at AIIMs said that Union Minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar’s death was unnatural sudden death.
A 3-member panel of doctors carried out the post-mortem on Sunanda Pushkar who was found dead mysteriously in a five-star hotel room where they were staying temporarily, ruled out possibility of poison consumption and said external injury marks have been found.
“We are focusing on investigating the reason for the sudden, unnatural death. Physical injuries on Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor’s body may or may not be related to her death,” Dr. Sunil Gupta said.
Shashi Tharoor rushed to the AIIMS mortuary after being released from the AIMS. He was admitted last night following chest pain and uneasiness. He is expected to give his statement over his wife’s death to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate later today.
Meanwhile some of Sunanda Pushkar’s relatives demanded CBI probe into her ‘unnatural death’. In an interview with CNN-IBN, Sunanda’s cousin Sanjay Pandita and his wife Anu Pandita said they do not belive Sunanda can commit suicide.
“Except migraine, she had no other major ailment. It is true that she was quite disturbed over what was happening in her life recently,” Sanjay Pandita said.
Sunanda’s funeral is expected to take place at 4:30 pm today at Lodhi Road crematorium.
