RTI activist files complaint with EC against Tendulkar’s Bharat Ratna

The RTI activist Debashish accused government of violating model code of conduct by honouring Sachin Tendulkar with Bharat Ratna during election period. Debashish has moved to the Election Commission on Tuesday.

In his letter the RTI activist has said that Sachin Tendulkar is a Congress nominated Rajya Sabha MP and by giving him Bharat Ratna government can influence voters in the upcoming state elections in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.

Soon after Sachin Tendulkar retired from world cricket after playing 200 Test for India on last Saturday, the Government has declared Bharat Ratna for him along with noted scientist Professor CNR Rao.
