Rajesh and Nupur Talwar found guilty in Aarushi and Hemraj murder case

Dr. Rajesh Tawlar and his wife Nupur Talwar have been found guilty in murdering their only daughter Aarushi and domestic-help Hemraj in 2008. Special CBI judge Shyam Lal pronounced the verdict on Monday. Tomorrow the court will announce the sentence for the two.

The couple have been convicted under IPC section 302 and 201 for murder and destruction of evidence. Rajesh Talwar held guilty, under section 203 for lodging false FIR.

On May 16, In 2008, 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar was brutally murdered at the Talwar family’s Noida residence. Talwars’ servant, Hemraj’s body was also found next day on the terrace. Central Bureau of Investigation has accused Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar for killing their only daughter Aarushi Talwar and their servant Hemraj. CBI argued that Aarushi and Hemraj were murdered in Aarushi’s room after they were found in a compromising position by the parents. Talwar couple carried Hemraj’s body on the terrace in a bed sheet after the killing.

The couple broke down in court after hearing the news and in a statement they said they were deeply disappointed and hurt by the verdict. A legal team for the Talwars said they will challenge the verdict in Allahabad High Court.
