Delhi Boy Prafull Sharma Discovers A New Comet ‘SOHO’

A Delhi boy, Class XII student, Prafull Sharma has discovered a new comet – SOHO 2333. Prafull, an avid comet hunter found the Comet while studying the Sun using data from NASA.

SOHO comets are generally small comets which found in close proximity of the Sun and eventually crash into it. It is speculated that SOHO 2333 is a portion which has separated from parent comet Machholz.  

Recently one Chinese comet hunter Liang Liu found another fragment of comet Machholz.  

The British Astronomical Association confirmed Prafull Sharma’s discovery.
