Haider wins People’s Choice Award at Rome film festival

Director Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider has won prestigious People’s Choice Award at Rome Film Festival. The film was screened on Friday in the “Mondo Genere” section in presence of actor Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj.

Set in the backdrop of militant Kashmir – Bhardwaj showcased an exceedingly elegant adaptation of Shakespearean Hamlet, and has been receiving rave reviews from the critics and cinelovers.

“About 90% of those who watched the film were Italians. They said the film had really touched them. Some of them had visited Kashmir in the early 1990s, others before the onset of militancy,” Bhardwaj told Times Of India, adding, “The award proves that if you put your heart in a movie, it can move people beyond borders.”

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
