Users of Facebook and Twitter Making Money by Promoting Companies

According to News.com.au, over 500 Australian companies, including Reader’s Digest, Perfume Connection, Starshots and Bevilles Jewelers, have signed up to the social media marketing website “socialloot.com” to advertise deals, products and services.

Any Facebook or Twitter user can log on to the website, select the companies he/she wants to promote, post information about them on his/her Facebook or Twitter account and get paid each time a friend clicks on the link.

The earnings of such users depend on the company, number of friends and followers they have, and their “online influence”.

The site was launched in June 2010 and has a million Australian subscribers from Facebook and Twitter.  Now the website is planning to reach out to potential global subscribers.

However, there is the opinion that this kind of marketing could result in the decay and demise of social networking. (“Not a bad prospect at all!”, some might mumble!)

Paul Harrison, a senior lecturer at the Deakin Graduate School of Business, said: “The moment you commercialise Facebook, you shift the nature of your online relationships.”

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
